200 events have approximate published-address positions; 164 have approximate neighbourhood coordinates; 361 only have city-centre positions. The remaining 68 unknown or virtual events use gray tiny dots at the map centre. Every event has its own dot. Events with only a neighbourhood or municipality location appear as super-tiny collections centred on that recorded area. Unknown/virtual events form a gray collection at the map centre. Display offsets separate dots; they are not venue coordinates. Larger dots use approximate published addresses. The default county map frames the main event area; outliers remain in the list and can be reached by panning or choosing Whole LA County.
Dot size reflects Prominence, a 0–100 editorial estimate: organizer recognition 35%, scale cues 30%, sponsor/co-host support 20%, official featured status 15%. These are source-based proxies, not verified attendance or sponsor budgets. Approximate-location collections use tiny individual dots with a subtle size variation by score; the event list is ranked by score. Points share the original Cartographer gold. Grid lines are 5 km apart in WGS84 / UTM zone 11N; labels measure east and north from the grid’s southwest origin. AI scores remain subjective estimates in event details and optional filters, with no colour encoding. Featured events have a stronger glow; unknown locations remain gray.
The optional 3D view extends the same map through all 168 hours of the week. Drag to look, WASD or arrows to move, wheel to glide. Space / Shift rise and sink. R or double-click returns home. View in 2D returns to the fixed map.
